Apart from that...
Every time I start thinking I'm as busy as I can be, someone gives me more work. This month, we've opened 3 (three!) exhibitions at the Museum, I've organized children's workshop, I'm translating, researching and doing all my usual daily tasks.
Besides, I'm trying to squeeze pilates, walking/mountaineering, reading, friends and dates into my schedule. Not easy!
I've been trying to start a new Tolkien pic for two weeks, but I barely have enough time to read my mails, and then I'm off. Mind you, I'm not complaining, being busy is good. Much better than doing nothing.
But that is just the surface, as usual.
Underneath, I'm still moody and gloomy, with occasional bursts of hysteria.
What do you do when you take your revenge and find out it is not enough?
Correction: it
is enough. And more.

Stumbled across your portrait of Glorfindel - great picture and a strong take on the character.
I also like your Feanor very much, though I think that his face could be more impressive if it wasn't just for half of his face... But that's your choice!
Great Tolkien-fanart. Keep it up & good luck with the pictures to come!

Must say that the composition of Glorfindel is taken from Michael Komarck (whose art is stunning!) - he found a great formula for an equestrian portrait.
As for Fëanor and his face - I feel that this type of frame is dynamic, and it is also more reduced, spare, focused on the important. You see all that you need to see, not all that you might wish to see - or at least that's how I feel about it.

Ah - I bet you've been inspired from his "Ser Jaime Lannister"-card from "A game of Thrones", haven't you? Yes, Kormack's art is really wonderful. I especially like his "Legend of the five rings"-artwork, plus: he's one of the artists whose characters faces really are unique/characteristic.
About Fëanor: Yes, I definitely did want to see more of his face, but you are right, though. Everything I need to know is in the picture - Feanor's character is really well captured. I think, your portrait is one of the very few that capture - or better: reveal - his arrogance. It's all there in his thin lips and the look in his eye(s).
A great expression, really!
CU & good luck with your art,
Miou
